DPCDSB announces its 2022 Distinguished Alumni


The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board (DPCDSB) has released its ninth annual "Distinguished Alumni" poster series featuring profiles of alumni who are making valuable and unique contributions in their respective careers, pathways, and communities. DPCDSB Distinguished Alumni also represent the image of the Catholic learner as described by the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations.

The poster will be distributed to all Catholic schools and parishes in Dufferin-Peel.

This year's poster features five alumni, including a chef, robotics engineer, filmmaker, singer/social activist and vice president of the Toronto Raptors.

  • Daniel Calabrese, Chef, Co-Captain Junior Culinary Team Canada 2022
    (St. Brigid C.E.S., St. Rita C.E.S., Robert F. Hall C.S.S.)

  • Angelica (Ruszkowski) Luptak, Robotics Engineer
    (St. Jean Brebeuf C.E.S. and St. Thomas Aquinas C.S.S.)

  • Kirk Diamond, Singer and Social Activist
    (John Cabot C.S.S.)

  • Chrisann Hessing, Filmmaker
    (St. Hilary C.E.S., Holy Name of Mary C.S.S.)

  • John Wiggins, Vice-President, Organizational Culture and Inclusion – Toronto Raptors
    (St. Joseph C.E.S., St. Francis Xavier C.E.S., St. Augustine S.S.)

"We are extremely proud of our DPCDSB graduates who have gone on to make valuable and unique contributions to society in so many ways," said Marianne Mazzorato, Director of Education. "These alumni have acknowledged that their Catholic education was foundational in helping to shape who they are and the path they have chosen. We hope they serve as a great source of inspiration for our current students and staff."

The profile of each alumnus aligns to one of the seven Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations:
