UPDATE: Ministry Supervision and Trustee Communication Protocol

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The Community Information Bulletin of July 10, 2025 stated that as part of the conditions of the Ministry of Education’s supervision of DPCDSB, communication that would normally be facilitated through  the local Trustee(s) is now to be directed to the office of the Director of Education. I am writing to provide additional information to ensure that your questions, concerns, and requests continue to be processed in an efficient and timely manner. In this regard, please note the following:

A.  Parent/Guardian Communication Process

  1. Family of Schools: For all inquiries/concerns/requests related to a school and/or a student’s education experience, the Superintendent responsible for the school continues to be the most appropriate person to contact. Please either contact the Catholic Education Centre at 905-890-1221 and you will be directed to the appropriate individual or contact the Superintendent’s office via email.
View a list of all DPCDSB schools and contact information for the appropriate Superintendent.

  2. During the period of Supervision, you will not receive communications (other than automatic email replies) from your local Trustee(s).  You are encouraged to work through the Family of Schools Superintendent (as indicated above) to address your concern. However, should you need your concern to be addressed beyond the Family of Schools Superintendent, you can reach out to my office via email at director@dpcdsb.org or by phone at 905-890-1221.

  3. For facilities related items, please reach out by email at facilities@dpcdsb.org or by phone to 905-890-0708, ext. 24220.

  4. For all other information, please visit the DPCDSB website at www.dpcdsb.org.

B.  Board of Trustees’ and Committee Meetings

  1. Until future notice, there will be no Regular Board of Trustee meetings.

  2. Committees: While meetings of Committees that are required under the Education Act will continue to occur under the direction of the Supervisor, Trustees will not participate. These Committees are Audit; Special Education Advisory (SEAC); Central Committee for Catholic School Councils (CCCSC); Supervised Alternative Learning (SAL); and Discipline.

C.  DPCDSB Visits and Events

  1. During the period of Supervision, Trustees will not be visiting DPCDSB buildings, including schools, nor will they be participating in school or board-related events.

We continue to have a shared commitment to serving all DPCDSB students and families and will continue to keep you informed of any new information that we receive.

Thank you for your attention to this updated communications protocol and for your continued understanding and support.

Sincerely,
Dr. Marianne Mazzorato, Ed.D.
Director of Education
