The Ministry of Education administers the system of publicly funded elementary and secondary school education in Ontario, in accordance with the directions set forth by the provincial government. Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board reports to the Ministry of Education and, as a Catholic institution, responds to the teachings of the Catholic Church as outlined in Canon Law.
The Ministry of Education website provides information available (in both English and French) concerning special education. The Ministry of Education's refreshed special education web page is designed to facilitate easy access for parents, teachers, administrators and students.
