Walking and cycling to school can do wonders for students. These forms of "active transportation" can improve physical health, overall mood, maturity and academic performance, while creating great opportunities for them to bond with friends and family. Peel Region has a great selection of resources for parents and guardians interested in getting their children walking and cycling. For school staff interested in handouts, activity forms and more, please visit the Active Transportation Education webpage.
Taking public transportation is a great way for students to get to and from school. Students learn independence, get in more physical activity and gain the flexibility to attend extracurriculars on their own schedule. MiWay services schools within Mississauga, while Brampton Transit services schools in Brampton (including select schools in Caledon). Both agencies also provide school-specific routes and reduced fare for students. For more information on routes, schedules, fare prices and more, visit Miway and Brampton Transit.
